Leadership Development for South Sudan

In spite of the investment which Windle and others have been able to make in the skills of the people of South Sudan in recent years there is a still a huge shortage of skills. This is particularly true among the women of South Sudan. The lack of human capital limits the capacity to manage the development of the country. Windle believes that bringing South Sudanese to the UK for postgraduate study is an effective way of providing access to relevant training for leaders and professionals. The program also gives students access to leadership training. Windle alumni are already playing crucial roles in the country?s development. Windle requests that Pharo Foundation should consider providing an average funding of £7,000 per student towards the direct costs of eight students? study per year for the three years 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 In addition Windle asks that the Foundation considers making a contribution of £1,000 per student to the costs of Leadership training and conferences. An allowance of £1000 is included for the cost of a meeting of the Pharo students. The request to Pharo Foundation is deliberately set at only about one third of the total cost of support in order that the Pharo contribution may be used to stimulate other donors to support the programme, the ?multiplier? effect.
Provide a scholarship to support a third of the direct costs to bring across 8 South Sudanese students (per academic year for three years) for post-graduate studies to the UK
