Pharo Kindergarten, Hargeisa sits inside one national network of curriculum, assessment and teacher development, so a lesson learned in one school improves the others.
We measure ourselves on whether a child who starts here finishes here, and on what happens to them afterwards.
In Somaliland, a place at a good school is rationed by cost.
Quality schooling is scarce and expensive where we work, and the children with the most potential are the least likely to find a classroom that can develop it.
This is not a shortage of ability. It is a shortage of access to the institutions that turn ability into qualifications and work.
Our response
Pharo Kindergarten, Hargeisa offers a continuous path, a shared standard, and local leadership developed through the network.
A clear route through the grades, so a child can complete their schooling without a forced transfer.
The Pharo Graduate Profile and pedagogical spine anchor teaching across every campus.
Run by a local team, developed through the network’s teacher and leadership programmes.
A child who stays for years outperforms one given a single intervention. Keeping students enrolled is where the returns are.
Schools led by people from the community recruit better, retain better and are trusted more.
Shared curriculum, assessment and teacher development mean each school raises the others.
